While I’ve never seen any skiing competitions here, the park near the rowing club is spectacular. Beautiful sunsets and sunrises. You can usually see small boats going by and people walking their dogs. A great place to just bring a blanket, maybe a picnic, and just sit and enjoy yourself. Miss this place since moving out of Long Beach.
Love coming to this venue for rowing. It’s convenient, beautiful, the public restrooms are clean and orderly. I look forward to it all the time. It’s by far the best rowing venue we attend, in my book.
My only downside is something they can’t control, and that’s the local homeowners along the park are just miserable during event weekends. They picked a location that hosts rowing events with hundreds of people, and that’s the trade off, but I have never not dealt with a home owner yelling at traffic as we all wait to enter gates as instructed by the venue.
The dogs that come visit the park with their owners are the best part aside from location. It’s like a cherry on the cake. Can’t wait to come back next season.

Beautiful low key outdoor space! However it is surrounded by quite neighborhoods. We felt unsure to be able to picnic there until we saw others hanging out there. Plenty of free parking.
Excellent . Put the boat in the water while we waited and helped a friend set up their recently purchased boat. Very few people for a Sunday. Only 3 other boats the whole 4 hours we there. I recommend it highly . Bathrooms are much cleaner then Davies launch. No fresh water rinse though. Not knocking Davies .
Had a huge picnic here. Great experience with the water views/access to parking and restrooms.Although there are NO picnic tables our group brought there own chairs and tables.
